Loek is a specialist in insolvency law. As a highly experienced lawyer, Loek has worked on numerous high-profile insolvencies and complex domestic and international restructurings. Loek advises companies in distress, directors, shareholders and creditors. His specific area of expertise is insolvency litigation, such as disputes about liability (including director’s liability), claims for fraudulent conveyance (actio pauliana) and enforcement of security rights.
Loek also has broad commercial litigation experience.
Besides being a frequently published author, Loek also holds a lecturing position at the Law Firm School. His professional memberships include Dutch insolvency law association INSOLAD, INSOL Europe and Vereniging Corporate Litigation (Dutch Corporate Litigation Association). In 2020 & 2021, The Legal 500 awarded him the title of Rising Star.
Before joining Rutgers & Posch in 2021, Loek spent 14 years with Loyens & Loeff. He has completed the specialist programmes Insolvency Law at Grotius Academy (cum laude) and Financial Economics for Insolvency Lawyers at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
