Jaouad is a specialist in employment law. He has experience dealing with complicated negotiation processes, whether in a legal or an international context. He frequently represents his clients in court, and advises them on employment law matters.

He studied at Leiden University, Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Before he joined Rutgers & Posch in 2018, Jaouad worked for Loyens & Loeff, where he gained experience in the firm’s employment law and finance practices.

At one of the review sessions of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Geneva, I quickly saw that it’s not just about the facts and legal issues, but also (and perhaps more importantly) about political relationships and diplomacy. As a lawyer, I want to focus mostly on the facts and the legal framework, with a touch of diplomacy. My experience in Geneva is of great help with my legal work.”

Jaouad volunteers with the refugee buddy programme of social support organisation Regenboog Groep in Amsterdam.
