Bas Mees

Bas is a highly skilled M&A lawyer with experience in the (international) merger and acquisition practice since 2006. He specializes in mid-market private equity transactions, acting on all sides of the table. He also advises on venture capital deals, joint ventures, carve-outs and restructurings. Bas enjoys working efficiently and pragmatically with his clients and sees beyond the legal issues in transactions.

His recent work includes advising private equity investors in buy-and-build transactions, international auction sales and funding rounds, as well as assisting founders and entrepreneurs in investment rounds and exit transactions. Bas also advises management in management participations.

Bas is a graduate of University of Groningen and Harvard (Corporate Finance). Bas joined Rutgers & Posch in 2022. Prior to this, he worked at Freshfields for over 10 years before co-founding Vriman M&A Lawyers in 2016.
