A brief report of the AIJA Annual Labour Law Conference

8 July 2025

From 26 to 28 June, our colleagues Ilaha Muhseni and Claire Huijts participated in the annual Labour Law Seminar of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) in Cambridge. This year, the seminar focused on the theme: “Lifecycle of an entrepreneur – from personal to personnel.”

During various panel discussions, labour law specialists from around the world exchanged knowledge and experiences on a wide range of topics related to this theme. Ilaha Muhseni participated as a speaker in the panel entitled “Scaling up efficiently / Economies of scale ups – Dealing with hiring and redundancy cycles as you scale whilst managing reputational risk.”

In addition to the substantive programme, there were opportunities for participants to become better acquainted with international colleagues during social activities, including a dinner at the historic Gonville & Caius College and the traditional punting tour on the River Cam.

Once again, it was an inspiring and successful conference, further strengthening our international position and expanding our knowledge and network.
