During the recent merger of public broadcasters AVRO and TROS into AVROTROS, both broadcasting associations were advised by a team of lawyers from Rutgers & Posch led by Hendrik Jan Schimmel and Dirk Jan Rutgers. The team also included Merel van der Kamp and Franci van Helvoirt. Henry Bennebroek Gravenhorst of DLA Piper acted as notary and Matilda Robichon of SOLV advised the broadcasters with respect to media law.
The merger took the form of a split-off of the assets of AVRO and TROS to the newly established AVROTROS association. AVROTROS is now the largest broadcasting association in the Netherlands.
